Hello again action movie lovers. It’s time to get hit
with the Rock and I don’t mean that literally. Hopefully nobody is bleeding
from a head injury from an actual rock.
We’ve seen him wrestle, sing, and become a big time
movie star, and no John Cena, it’s not you.

I’m talking about Dwayne Johnson
(“G.I. Joe: Retaliation”) otherwise known to his fans as The Rock. He was born
in Hayward, California to Rocky and Ata Johnson. He traveled with his family
because his father was a wrestler and Johnson was inspired to be like him one
day. In 1996 he joined the WWE (“World Wrestleing Entertainment”) as Rocky
Maivia and later on dubbed himself as The Rock. Later on his career he won the
WWE title and became the “People’s Champion” which was a highlight for his
career.
In 2000 Johnson appeared as the host of Saturday Night
Live where also appeared will follow wrestlers Big Show (Paul Randall Wright
Jr.), Mick Foley, and Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque). During the show Johnson
got to prove his talents as an actor and singer. Then he made his film debut
which was a brief appearance in 2001’s “The Mummy Returns” where he portrayed
the Scorpion King. The movies financial success led him to his actual first
leading role in the prequel,“The Scorpion King.”
Since “The Scorpion King” Johnson’s movie career has
taken off. He has been in movies such as “The Rundown,” “Faster,” and “Doom.”
Even with a few serious and kid movies along the way Johnson has proven he is
the next big action star of our generation. He has proven it with hard hitting
fight scenes that hero quality fans like to see and he is a good actor.
An interesting fact according to imdb.com is that Johnson
owns the rights to the name “The Rock.
Currently we can see Johnson in the new “G.I. Joe” movie and
this Friday in “Pain & Gain” with co star Mark Walberg (“Max Payne”).
Coming later this summer is the next installment of the Fast and Furious
franchise series with their sixth movie. According to Wikipedia Vin Diesel
(“Fast & Furious”) reads comments and feedback from fans who want to see a
movie starring him and Johnson. Johnson landed a role in a film with Diesels
help and “Fast Five” grossed over
$86 million in its opening weekend.
That was a record for the Fast and Furious franchise.
So far Johnson has done well in the action movie
business. He is currently working on a movie where he will portray Hercules. Also
coming next summer Johnson will return with Diesel and the rest of Fast and
Furious characters for a seventh installment. (I know how many more can they
make, right?) Johnson does however make a few appearances here and there on the
WWE but hasn’t given any word about retiring from wrestling.
Make you sure guys follow him on Twitter at https://twitter.com/TheRock.
